Empowering pupils with EHCPs through EDClass
Education, Health & Care Plans
EDClass understands the unique and often complex needs of pupils with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Our DfE-accredited platform is designed to provide a collaborative and holistic approach, empowering pupils, educators, and parents to work together to achieve individual learning goals and positive outcomes.
As highlighted in our recent Ofsted report:
Currently, 174 school-age pupils study with EDClass full time. Of these, 25 pupils have an education, health and care (EHC) plan. Nine children on the roll of EDClass are looked after by a local authority. All pupils attending EDClass live in England."

How EDClass Supports Pupils with EHCPs
EDClass understands the unique and often complex needs of pupils with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Our DfE-accredited platform is designed to provide a collaborative and holistic approach, empowering pupils, educators, and parents to work together to achieve individual learning goals and positive outcomes.
As highlighted in our recent Ofsted report:
To ensure a smooth transition, we conduct initial welcome meetings with the pupil, parents, and school staff. This is our first step in understanding the pupil's needs and ensuring that every part of the EHCP can be effectively catered for from the very beginning.
Our UK-qualified teachers, supported by our specialist SEND team, use EDTeach to create tailored learning plans that align with the specific goals and targets outlined in each pupil's EHCP. This ensures their education is not only consistent but directly relevant to their individual needs, whether it's for core subjects or vocational skills.
We believe in a collaborative approach to supporting pupils with EHCPs. EDClass provides a valuable, centralised platform for communication between our teachers, your staff, parents, and therapists. Our team is actively involved in regular reviews, and we participate in engagement and progress meetings to ensure everyone is aligned.
The detailed, real-time reports from our platform allow us to monitor progress towards EHCP goals and identify areas where additional support may be needed, providing the evidence needed for effective collaboration.
The EDNurture module is dedicated to supporting pupils' social, emotional, and mental health needs, which are often a key part of an EHCP. Our resilience teachers provide a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence and self-confidence, helping to reduce anxiety and prepare pupils for future learning. The platform also incorporates wellbeing breaks to ensure students can take a mental health break and return to learning feeling refreshed.
Our EDInclude module provides a flexible and inclusive learning environment. The platform offers customisable fonts, layouts, text-to-speech options, and multi-sensory learning to cater to diverse learning needs and preferences, making our curriculum accessible for all learners, including those struggling to acquire an EHCP.
Our EDSafe module ensures a fully supervised and secure learning space. All sessions are recorded and monitored by our dedicated safeguarding team, providing peace of mind for parents and professionals that the pupil is in a safe environment.
