We are hiring for a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

EDClass is dedicated to safeguarding children and young people. The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead will manage safeguarding alerts, liaise with the teaching team and account managers, handle child and vulnerable adult protection issues, and maintain accurate records. The role requires excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, with a strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practices.

EDClass is an educational business that provides teaching, learning and support to over 300 schools throughout the UK in a fully secure and comprehensive safeguarded learning environment and we need to add to our ever expanding team of deputy designated safeguarding leads. Our recent OFSTED report can be viewed here and it clearly shows how important safeguarding is to us and our business. Location:

The DDSL Job is based at our office in Dinnington, Sheffield. We are literally 10 minutes from the M1 (J31); 5 minutes from the A57 (Todwick roundabout); 10 minutes from the M18 (J2); and 15 minutes from the A1. Due to safeguarding, child protection and government legislation all teaching and safeguarding staff must work from our premises. We are flexible to your needs and requirements so please only apply if you can attend our place of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Questionnaire and Safeguarding Alerts
  • Liaise with the Senior DSL for major incidents
  • Update Zoho CRM and Work Drive with accurate records
  • Conduct weekly EDSupport chat checks
  • Create and maintain relationships with school DSLs
  • Generate weekly reports on safeguarding activities

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good time management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in a safeguarding role
  • DSL Safeguarding qualification (Level 3)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, SEN Code of Practice, and related areas

Candidates must be eligible for a relevant DBS check.
